Invitation We invite you and your organization to co-author a new version of Question Project and share in the process of generating collective knowledge.
Through your participation in this dialogue designed by Mil M2, you will create a series of questions. These questions will be the basis for the development of a Workbook that will be delivered to multiple communities, organizations, and educational and cultural institutions with missions aligned with your own.
Who is behind this invitation? This invitation is part of the work that we, the Chile-based artist collective Mil M2, have developed over the past seven years with various artists, activists, social organizations and cultural institutions in South America, the Caribbean and Europe. Through the staging and installation of questions derived from face-to-face conversations, we seek to build bridges between disparate communities, in order to collectively create and disseminate new approaches to activate critical discourse and generate knowledge.
Commissioned by Unfinished and supported by McCourt, this invitation is a call to action based on a diverse, global, and multilingual exchange. To achieve this, we have devised a set of tools and actions for the creation and sharing of questions. This Toolkit is the first step.
Why ask questions? There are many answers to this question. Throughout the last seven years, traveling across diverse public spaces gathering questions, we have learned that freely sharing our doubts and curiosities opens up a generative space of collective learning within the political and the poetic spheres, and furthermore, enhances the way we understand and communicate with each other.
There are many types of questions. For example, there are questions that are impossible to answer, those that are answered by themselves, complicated and simple questions, some that bring people together, and some that separate them. As humanity, our way of building knowledge and moving forward has been through uncertainty. We have advanced as a society on the basis of questions, and we have come a long way by building a world that we cannot stop examining and questioning.

What does this process entail? We ask each guest to do the following:
+ Devote 90 minutes to the development of three exercises.
+ Authorize us to incorporate the content generated through this Toolkit into a nonprofit workbook publication.
+ After completion of the exercises, share through this platform the material generated during the activity.
+ Choose two monitors to put in charge of coordinating and guiding the participation of three to eight people from their community.
What are the benefits?
+ Widen the scope of the questions, demands, and issues that drive your work through the broad digital and print media distribution of the project by both Unfinished and Mil M2.
+ Co-author a Workbook that will be distributed internationally to a carefully selected network of educational and cultural institutions and organizations.
+ Receive several copies of the Workbook to distribute and share with your network.
+ Gain long-lasting, simple, and artful tools and approaches for developing educational programs and sharing knowledge.
What is the session like? Each session prompts three questions:
+ WHAT QUESTION WOULD YOU ASK YOURSELF?
An individual and personal exercise that introduces the methodology of the activity.
+ WHAT QUESTION IS URGENT TO ASK?
An exercise regarding your community's perspective.
+ WHAT GENERATIVE QUESTION IS URGENT TO ASK?
A collective exercise that considers future participants of the project.
Through this platform, you will have access to both individual and group sessions. The group session is designed for eight participants and lasts approximately 90 minutes. However, the number of participants can vary from three to 1,000,000 depending on your community’s objective. Each participant should consider sharing at least five questions out of the total number of questions developed.
The group session requires choosing two moderators: one to read the instructions and one to keep time.
What do we expect from you? Stimulating questions, fiery reflections, humor, political angles, diverse perspectives, contradictions, structural criticisms and new points of view.
What is not permitted? No violence or hate speech of any kind will be tolerated against individuals or communities.
What are we going to do with this information? The text and visual information shared through this platform will be used in the production of a Workbook by Mil M2 and Unfinished. This Workbook will be printed and distributed free of charge to the participants of this Toolkit and to an expanded network of cultural, educational and social institutions around the world. Your questions, together with those of other participants, will be the basis for the development of new exchange activities.
In addition to incorporating this new content into the Workbook, Mil M2 and Unfinished will use it for communication purposes in both print and digital media.
In the last section of this Toolkit, we will ask you to share some of the questions you have written, as well as photographs of this content. None of the fields in that last section is mandatory, except for your email and the organization with which you participated, if you have participated in a group. We will use your email only to keep you informed of the progress of this Project. Your name will not be linked to your content neither in the publication, nor in its dissemination, unless you voluntarily enter that information. If you add your address in the form, it will only be used to mail you any printed information you request from this Toolkit and the Workbook.
By submitting the information entered on this platform you authorize us to use this content in the aforementioned manner.
